There is two ways for that:
Automatic mode: Give a 'standard name' to the track like 'BD' or 'SNARE' and go to the menu 'tools/autoassign tracks'.
Manual mode: In the upper combobox of the pattern chose the control '7 Instrument' the chose the sample in the combobox in the left of your track.

Open the pattern list window, and double click on the pattern you want to edit. You can also click on the modify button. Don't forget to active the pattern radio button in the transport bar.

Click in the gray rectangle in the pattern windows and use the insert key it will add a new track. May be you will have to resize the window after.

Select your track with the mouse, so click on the track name in the pattern windows (the selected track will be yellow hilighted) and click on the delete key.

I try to drag n drop a track from track list to pattern and nothing happens !

We will add drag n drop features in a newer version. For now, you have to add a new track and to edit it in order to select the sound.
