1 - Audio Configuration
menubar: tools/audioconfig will open this window
You can adjust the sound rendering engine to you computer and soundcard. Try the smallest value of audio buffer avoiding sound scratch. For a better rendering, try also without the force synchro switch.
2 - Pattern Editor
you can modify the name and the number of beats per measure of the pattern and the number of measures with the combo-boxes
Each track is represented on one line, you see first the name of the track, then the mute and the solo buttons You can toggle the mute and soloby clicking respectivly on the 'S' an 'M' buttons. You can toggle the automatic fill by clicking the 'F' button.
You can use contextual menu (left click) on notes, frames, and tracks.
Some keys are available:
Selected track is the dark gray track and selected key is framed key
+ and - Modify the pitch of the selected note
v set the selected note to default velocity note
del clear the selected note
e launch the note editor
insert insert a new track
delete delete the selected track
r randomize the selected track
n give the next instrument to the selected track
space bartoggle play/stop the current pattern
You can modify the track properties, use the "control" combobox
You can modify the note properties: Modify the red vertical cursor for velocity and the red horizontal cursor for the pitch
You can drag n drop notes inside a track of from/to another track
3 - Note editor
With this panel, you can control the pitch and the velocity of the selected note.
You can also define a loop point
4 - Track properties editor
First you have to select a track in the pattern (the track must be hilighted). Then you can modify somes parameters in the track panel.
You can modify the name of the track
You can change the panoramic (-8 means that the sound is to the left and 8 means the right).
You can change the volume, from 0 to 99.
You can change the pitch, half tone by half tone (12 means nothing is changed).
You can modify the sample used for this track
You can modify the scale used for this track ( you have to add some scales note on the track)
You can modify the fantomfill used for this track, it's configure the automatic fill mode for this track
5 - Instrument list panel
This is your instrument list. To add an instrument click on the "add" button and select a wave file (any stadard wav file) on your disk.
6 - Instrument panel
This is your instrument. You can play it for test and you can select the type of your sample (used for the automatic fill mode)
7 - Pattern list panel
You can create and suppress patterns. You can define the "current" pattern for editing (but select the "pattern mode" in the transport bar before).
8 - Pattern layout list panel
You can choose the order of the played patterns. You can define the loop number of each pattern in the right column
If you switch the pattern-switch button on, the patterns will be played and looped as defined in the pattern layout panel.
9 - Fantomfill list panel
You can create and suppress fantomfill.
10 - Fantomfill editor panel
You can modify the name of the fantomfill
You can modify the length of the fill (How many notes will be added of each original note)
You can modify the random of the fill (1 means all the added notes will be played and 8 means each added note has one chance on 8 to be played).
You can modify the step of the fill (how many beats betwenns two added notes). The checkbox will determine the rule for the step computing.
You can modify the velocity of the fill (how munch the velocity will be increase between two added notes).
You can modify the pitch of the fill (how munch the pitch will be increase between two added notes).
If you switch the pattern-switch button on, the patterns will be played and looped as defined in the pattern layout panel.
11 - Transport bar
With this panel, you can start/stop the Drumbox and adjusts the tempo. Like any drumbox, the tempo is in Beats per Minute (BPM).
You can choose between 'pattern mode' that plays always the same pattern and 'song mode' that succesively plays the patterns as defined in the pattern layout panel.
You can modify the general volume of the song. If you want to play louder you can increase the volume and if you got too much level you can reduce the general volume.
12 - Scale editor panel
You can modify the name of the scale
Keyboard insert and delete keys to instert or delete a note in the scale. Just click on the correct case to modify the pitch of a note in the scale pitch are relative to the first note (by default it's C2 ) .
